Jonathan Larson 鈥�82, the creator of the musicals Rent and tick, tick鈥� BOOM! who changed musical theater forever, 鈥渨as a standout talent in the early stages of Adelphi鈥檚 theater program,鈥� Adelphi President Christine M. Riordan, PhD, said in a video about the Jonathan Larson Scholarship Fund. 鈥淭his [fund] will ensure Adelphi students can follow in Jonathan鈥檚 footsteps for many years to come.鈥�
The Pooles Honored for Supporting the Arts at Adelphi
When Mary Jane 鈥�62 and Thomas Poole received the President鈥檚 Award for Distinguished Service at the 2022 President鈥檚 Gala, President Christine Riordan praised the Pooles as 鈥渃hampions of the arts at Adelphi.鈥� They sponsor the 鈥淧oole Family Broadway Series,鈥� which showcases professionals and students at the Performing Arts Center.
