Post-9/11 GI Bill®
The Post-9/11 GI Bill®Ìýrepresents the largest expansion of education benefits to veterans since World War II. Eligible veterans can receive benefits to pay tuition, housing and textbook costs that could allow them to study at Adelphi for little to no cost.
Effective Date
The Post-9/11 GI Bill® became effective for training on or after August 1, 2009.
Eligibility
The Post-9/11 GI Bill® is for individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after September 11, 2001, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. You must have received an honorable discharge to be eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill®. Read theÌýeligibility and payments informationÌýfor more information.

Students interested in applying and enrolling at Adelphi, regardless of whether or not they will be eligible for G.I. Bill benefits, should immediately fill out aÌý. FAFSA forms are also available at theÌýOffice of Student Financial Services.
College Tuition and Fees Covered by the Post-9/11 GI Bill®
- Traditional tuition and fees for Adelphi isÌý$23,635Ìýper semester. ForÌý2024-2025, the maximum amount of educational benefits for veterans covered 100 percent under Chapter 33 isÌý$28,937.09. Adelphi is anÌý. Chapter 33 students whose benefit is 100 percent may also be eligible for theÌý. Under this program, a veteran student whose tuition and fees are not covered by other benefits and types of aid may receive up to a maximum ofÌý$4,000 in a university grant, which will be matched by the VA (up to an additional $4,000).
- Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH):ÌýThis could result in thousands of dollars in housing assistance while you study, depending upon your rank. Find out what you may beÌý.
- $1,000 stipend for books and supplies annually.
- Transfer of Eligible Benefits (TEB) to dependent spouse or children:ÌýService members who are enrolled in the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill can transfer unused education benefits to their dependent spouse or children. Get more information onÌý.
Information for Currently Enlisted or Reservist Military
Adelphi is a member of theÌýÌý(SOC) Consortium, colleges and universities dedicated to helping servicemembers and their families get college degrees.ÌýAdelphi is also a member of theÌýÌý(ConAP), allowing soon-to-enlist or currently enlisted military personnel to enroll in and complete college courses while they continue their service commitments.
