ÌýThe Long Island Rail Road Garden City train station is just a short walk from campus, and the ride into Manhattan’s Penn Station only takes 40 minutes.

Adelphi offers more than just easy access to the world’s greatest city. It’s located in one of the most charming towns on Long Island and boasts one of New York’s safest campuses.

Ìýis a town of grand houses, wide boulevards and a vibrant downtown. It’s also consideredÌýÌýand one of the safest in New York state.

Adelphi’s campus, which has been named the Best Public Garden on Long Island, reflects the safety of Garden City. Niche ranks us No. 29 on their list of .

Security on campus is ensured by the University’s Department of Public Safety and Transportation. The department offers a range of resources, including an emergency notification system, emergency phones located throughout the campus, easily accessible safety tips and guides, and a staff Threat Assessment Team, which meets twice a month to address any pressing safety issues on campus.

The department oversees the campus and its 400 security cameras at a state-of-the-art command center. Cameras are only as good as the officers watching them, and Adelphi has one of the best—Eugene Doherty, an investigative CCTV specialist who was voted theÌýÌýby the Long Island Chapter of ASIS International, the organization for security professionals.
