First Year Seminar: New Immigrant New York and the Second Generation-
Immigration and Gender
My research interests cut across multiple disciplines and fields of study that include Sociology, Social Welfare/Social Work and Central American/Latinx studies. Specifically my research explores immigrant mothers from Central America and their experiences of reunification with their children after years of separation. I also use a critical feminist lens to analyze experiences of gender with undocumented women, domestic workers, posttraumatic growth, unaccompanied minors, Latinx second generation youth and immigrant transnational families.
