Grow with Google

As of March 1, 2025聽 麻豆直播 will transition from Career Academy to Grow with Google, which is also hosted on Coursera. This transition brings new, free learning opportunities, including all Google Certificates currently available in Career Academy, plus courses on Artificial Intelligence (AI).

If you are enrolled in a course from a provider other than Google (such as Meta, IBM, etc.), your free access will end on February 28, 2025. You must retain your course progress by linking your Adelphi account to a personal Coursera account before March 1. To do so, log into your Adelphi account and go to the settings menu. At 麻豆直播, we honor and support our employees who serve in the Uniformed Services of the United States. Our Military Leave policy ensures that employees called to active or training service receive the necessary support and protections.

Here are the key points regarding our Military Leave Policy:

  • Policy Coverage: Our Military Leave policy applies to all administrators, staff, and faculty members as provided by federal law.
  • Entitlement to Leave: Employees who are called to active or training service in the Uniformed Services are entitled to unpaid leave time. This includes service in the regular armed forces, Reserves, National Guard, Public Health Service, and Coast Guard.
  • Re-Employment Rights: Upon completion of service, employees are entitled to re-employment in accordance with federal and state law. The Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA) protects employees’ rights to re-employment after military service.
  • Notification and Benefits Continuation: Employees going on Military Leave must provide advance notice to their supervisor and present service orders. They should contact the Office of Human Resources for information on benefit continuation during their leave.
  • Service Credit: Employees continue to receive continuous service credit at the University during any period of Military Leave.

At times, employees may need time off to care for a new child, a seriously ill family member or when a family member is called to active military service.

Eligibility

  • All non-faculty who work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for NYPFL benefits after 26 or more consecutive weeks (6 months) of employment.
  • Employees who work less than 20 hours per week become eligible after working 175 days.
  • Employees have the ability to waive the benefit if they do not meet the above requirements. The waiver form may be accessed directly at the . The form must be submitted to the Office of Human Resources.

How Do I Apply for FMLA?

If you anticipate an upcoming need for leave, notify your supervisor at least 30 days prior to the anticipated leave, or as soon as possible. Initiate the claim by completing the leave forms and submitting them to the Office of Human Resources:

  1. Notice of Employees Rights and Obligations
  2. Request for Family and Medical Leave of Absence
  3. depending on the reason you need to care for a family member:
    • PFL Family Care Leave Form 鈥 for care of a sick family member
    • PFL Bonding Leave Form 鈥 for birth of a newborn

Approved personal leaves are without pay and can last up to four (4) weeks. Please note that this is for leave other than Family and Medical Leave (FMLA).

Eligibility

All full-time, nonunion employees are eligible. Union employees should refer to their collective bargaining agreement for leave details.

How to Request for an Unpaid Leave of Absence

To request a personal leave of absence, submit an Unpaid Leave of Absence Request Form. This form must be approved by your immediate supervisor, dean or department manager, and the Office of Human Resources. The leave is not approved until you receive written confirmation from the Office of Human Resources.

If possible, provide a minimum of two (2) weeks鈥 notice before the leave begins.

Important Considerations

  • All vacation and personal time must be used before taking a leave of absence.
  • No vacation, sick, or personal time accrues during the leave. No holiday pay is earned during the leave.
  • Employees who do not return to work immediately after the leave may face termination.

Once Personal Leave is Approved

  • If the leave is approved, a copy of the form and a completed Payroll Transaction Form must be sent to the Office of Human Resources for processing.
  • Absences must be reported on the timesheet as “PL”.
  • Employees must pay 100% of their medical and/or dental insurance premiums by check while on leave. For contributory life insurance and/or long-term disability insurance, premiums must be paid by personal check. Participants in pre-tax health care, dependent care, or transportation accounts must reelect their contributions upon returning from leave.
  • Employees who do not return to work immediately after the leave may face termination.
  • While we strive to re-employ those returning from a leave, reemployment cannot be guaranteed.
